We will help you sort, weed, categorize, label and store items, and we will assist you in the selection of organizing and storage supplies.
Once your space has been reorganized, we'll provide you with the tools and knowledge to help you maintain your new organizing system.
And we will provide many resources for disposal of items no longer needed or wanted.
1. Does the Organizer do the work with me or does she tell me how to do it? We offer both guidance as well as hands-on organizing and support to help you achieve your goals.
2. Will my sessions with an Organizer, and any data shared, be treated confidentially? Yes. In fact our letter of agreement guarantees confidentiality.
3. How long will it take to get me organized? Some guidelines based on my experience are:
- A typical Manhattan clothing closet takes 2-4 hours
- A typical Manhattan linen closet takes 1-2 hours
- A typical Manhattan coat closet takes 1-2 hours
- A typical Manhattan kitchen takes 2-4 hours
- A typical Manhattan bathroom takes 1-2 hours
- Filing systems and general de-cluttering have wide potential ranges.
The time required can vary based on the size of the area to be organized, the density of the contents and your speed of decision making. I can give you a more specific time estimate once we discuss your specific needs and/or do an on-site assessment.
4. Will the organizer make me throw away my "stuff"? I will only encourage you to discard, donate or resell things that you no longer want, need or love. An organizer can also provide an objective perspective to help you make those decisions. Ultimately, you make the decision as to what to keep. My goal is not for you to get rid of stuff, but rather for you to be able to comfortably and effectively live in the space you have.
5. I've never been organized; can I learn how to be organized? Most people can develop their organizational skills, even if they are not intuitive organizers. In addition, once the right "systems" are put in place, maintenance can become much easier. Some people become situationally disorganized, while others have struggled all of their lives. I have training and experience in assisting both types of clients.
6. Do I need to clean up before you come? No need to clean up prior to our initial organizing consultation. It's much better for me to evaluate things in their current state, so I can help you develop better systems to ensure your ongoing success. And I've seen it all, so you don't need to feel embarrassed!
We pride ourselves in our approach to achieving high client satisfaction, and strive to be empathetic, non-judgmental and flexible in our solutions offered.
